These days there is a lot of misinformation regarding Christmas and the existence of Santa Claus. Here are the facts:

As anonymous online trolls continue to spread baseless claims of widespread Santa disinformation, others have come to the defense of the existence of Mr. Claus.

On Nov. 12, 2021, officials from two Department of Homeland Security committees released a joint statement debunking Santa deniers misinformation campaign.

"I've met Santa, he's a great guy, really terrific" said Gen. Mark Milley. "The US cannot tolerate these baseless lies regarding the existence of Santa. He is very much real, and this year's Christmas will be the most secure in both US and world history."

NORAD, in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, will be monitoring Santa's flight during Christmas Eve.

US President Joe Biden also commented on the growing Santa disinformation crisis. "Folks, Santa Claus is real. He's very much real. Every year for a hundred million billion years, the Easter Bunny, excuse me, Saint Nick, comes down the chimneys. And then the presents, they're delivered to all the children, and I like the children!"

Russian Internet trolls have been spreading misinformation regarding the logistics of Santa. Politifact has been quick to debunk such claims.

Santa takes advantage of the Earth's time zones! He starts by delivering presents at the International Date Line and travels west following the Earth's rotation around the sun. By doing that he gains many, many extra hours of time. Children are actually waking up and opening presents while Santa is still delivering! [2] As the population has increased, Santa has turned to the The Kringle 3000 to give a speed boost to his sleigh.

According to radical conspiracy theorists, parents across the world collude every year to forge Santa's presence. Ask yourself, if this conspiracy was true, how would it be possible for so many people to be involved without any whistleblowers? Conspiracies on this scale are simply not possible.

An NPR and Ipsos poll found that 17% of Americans believed the Santa Denier's claim that "all of Santa's toys are made in China and bought by parents." Anything above 0% is too high, and we must continue to use our control over information to change the mind of the public.
